MovingOn Courses offers both an
English course for adults and an
English course for teenagers in the same location. This means adults can study English with adults and the teenager can learn English with other teenagers. In other words it is not an English for all the family to learn English on the same course. It is also possible for some family members not to attend an English course and simply enjoy their stay in Cork or only attend the afternoon trips in English.
Both courses use the same university residence for the accommodation.
The family can choose different accommodation options:
1. All the family in the same apartment exclusively for the family.
2. All the family in one apartment shared with other teenagers or shared with other adults or indeed shared with another family.
3. The teenagers share an apartment with other teenagers (and our adult staff) while the adults share with other adults that are attending the adult English course.
We recommend the last option so that all members of the family integrate better in their respective
English courses. Also, it reduces the temptation to speak in the mother toungue.
Please note: the only double rooms available have one large bed and are for couples .
The above applies to our summer course but you can also consider homestay in N Ireland or Javea, Spain. Homestay refers to staying in the house of your teacher(s). Please note this is not the same as staying with a host family that only offers accommodation and food, you will also receive English classes etc in the house of your English teacher.
